Is this Herb effective in the clinic?

	Tastes: Sweet		Dosage: 1.5-6g

	Cautions: Contraindicated during Pregnancy. Toxicity: Overdosage may cause vomiting, intestinal colic, gastrointestinal bleeding, hematuria, disorientation, and convulsions. There has been one reported case of alopecia following ingestion of this herb. avoid use during Pregnancy		Meridians: Heart , Liver
	Preparation: Usually not decocted with the other herbs in a prescription. Rather, it is separately double-boiled and the liquid is then added to the decoction, or simply consumed by itself.		Quality: Good quality is dark red, dry, lightweight, and free of foreign matter.
