Preparation
Preparation:
This product is made by adding barley malt to glutinous rice flour, nonglutinous rice flour, or wheat flour, and then cooking it. There are two types of malt sugar: block and syrup. The syrup is sweeter and better suited for medicinal use. The Grand Materia Medica quotes an ancient lexicon which said that "sugar that is clear is called yi"
